How is COD profit calculated?
Leads become confirmed orders at your confirmation rate, and confirmed orders become delivered orders at your delivery rate. Only delivered orders collect cash. From that cash you subtract product cost, the carrier's delivery fee, the return fee on every undelivered order, any COD cash commission, packaging, confirmation labour, fixed costs and ad spend. What is left is net profit.
Why is my ROAS good but my profit negative?
ROAS only compares revenue to ad spend. In cash on delivery it ignores the three costs that decide the outcome: product cost on units you never get paid for, the carrier fee on every delivery, and the return fee on orders that come back. This calculator shows the break-even ROAS for your own numbers, which is the only ROAS target worth aiming at.
What is a good confirmation rate for cash on delivery?
It swings widely by market, offer and traffic source, so a benchmark from someone else's store tells you very little. What matters is the break-even confirmation rate for your numbers, which this tool solves for. Anything above it is profit, anything below it is a store that gets busier without getting richer.
Should I count stock for confirmed or delivered orders?
Pick confirmed if a returned unit cannot be resold, which is the case for custom or perishable goods and for suppliers who will not take stock back. Pick delivered if returns go straight back into sellable inventory. The difference is large at a low delivery rate, and it is the single most common mistake in COD spreadsheets.
What is the COD commission?
Many carriers charge a percentage of the cash they collect on top of the flat delivery fee. Enter that percentage here and it is applied to collected revenue only, never to orders that were returned.
Do you store the numbers I enter?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. The share button simply encodes the inputs into the page URL, so a link only carries what you chose to share.
